Foundation to Train 2000 Boys in Kogi on Prioritizing Future

Olugbemisola Daramola Child Care Foundation has perfected plans to train 2000 boys on discipline and prioritizing future across Secondary Schools in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi.

The visioner of the foundation, Mrs Olugbemisola Osagede-Daramola disclosed this on Friday while speaking to Journalists in Lokoja.

According to her, the training will be a pilot program, aimed at preparing the boy child for the future and instilling moral conduct in them.

“We are targeting 2000 boys for the training which will cut across all Secondary Schools in Yagba West.

“Boys also deserve special focus as all programmes and trainings have always been targeted towards girls child.

“This foundation wants to prepare the boys for the future. We will take them on career talk, dangers of drug addiction, abstinence from sex, dangers of smoking & alcoholism, dangers of social violence, discipline among others,” she said.

The foundation said the programme is billed to hold on 29th September – 4th October 2025 at selected centers across secondary schools in Yagba West LGA.

The foundation is set to present Boys Day Out 2025 with the theme: The Future Starts Now.

The convener also disclosed that the programme will witness interactive sessions, talk shows, games, refreshments and varieties.

Daramola also described boy child as important as girl child, and urged government, NGOs and the public to protect boy child.

She urged parents to stop neglecting boys child, but balance their responsibility towards caring and protecting the both gender.
