A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi State, Hon Sani Idakwo Philips has resigned his membership of the party with immediately effect.
In a letter sighted by Kogi reports, personally signed by him and addressed to the party Chairman of Odu 1 in Dekina Local Government, Idakwo stated that his reason for his resignation from the party were numerous, notably amongst others, is the faction that exist within the party at all levels.
Although Idakwo did not state his next move as to the party he will be joining, it is rumored that he is likely to join forces with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) owing to his constant criticism of the APC led Government in Kogi State.
Idakwo who was the House of Representatives candidate of the party at the 2019 National Assembly elections is a founding member of the Social Democratic Party in Kogi State.
His departure from the party has been described by numerous party faithfuls as a big blow for the party.
