Former PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, to Receive Special Recognition Award

The former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Special Adviser on Media to the former Senate President, Hon. Kola Ologbondiyan, is set to receive a special recognition award based on the recommendation of a team of experts who conducted an opinion poll that approved his nomination as the Image Maker of the Year, 2025, by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.

This was disclosed in a Press Statement signed by the publisher and CEO, Chief Olugbemi Femi, and made available to journalists on Sunday morning in Abuja.

The statement described Hon. Kola as a versatile journalist and Public Relations guru who has carved a niche for himself in the sector.

It also noted that having been part of the newspaper’s journey 15 years ago, the medium is glad to honor him.

He said the prestigious award will be presented during the 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony scheduled to hold on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.

The program will commence with a red carpet at 5 pm, followed by the main event at 6 pm, and a dinner program.

The theme of the event is “The Role of Independent Media Organizations in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria.” The event will feature guest speakers and key stakeholders from various sectors.

Additionally, the occasion will be used to launch a ₦100 million fund for the procurement of podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper Online Television.
