Former Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Chief Onuh Usman Abdullahi has emerged as the National Deputy Chairman of the Union.
At the keenly contested National Delegate Conference of the Union tagged “NDC Kano 2025”, Chief Onuh Abdullahi knocked out his opponents in the election with two hundred fifty seven votes,, while Alhaji Tsoho Garba from Jigawa State scored 152 votes and Alhaji Haliru Mohammed from Kwara got 5 votes, to be elected as the number two Pensioners leader in Nigeria.
Speaking after the election, the Deputy National President of the NUP described the contest as a very heart warming to him in view of the massive support received nationwide by delegates to clinch the office.
Chief Onuh assured members of the Union that efforts will be made by the new Executive to improve on welfare of pensioners nationwide in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
He expressed appreciation to all who stood by him especially delegates nationwide for the trust, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him.
