The Deputy Governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) on the 2023 Kogi gubernatorial election, Dr. Omede Idris, has called on party members in the to remain steadfast.
A statement signed by Lawal Okai for Omede Idris Media Team and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Saturday urged supporters and citizens to remain committed to the ideals of good governance.
He noted that as ADC has emerged as the nation’s new political bride, poised to halt and wrestle power from the current administration at state and national levels as preparation for 2027 gradually begins, the electorate should be optimistic and keep hope alive.
Lawal noted that Dr. Omede, a multiple award-winning medical practitioner and soft spoken politician has earned a reputable place in the eyes of his pundits, admirers, contemporaries and foes alike.
“Dr. Omede Idris is a distinguished individual with an enviable personality, an unassuming, consummated and realistic person. A man of few words, exhibiting valuable commitments to human growth and societal well-being within his ability. A man who had earned his respect professionally, nationally and within Kogi state in some spheres and his contemporaries and peers.
“During the November 2023 Kogi Governorship contest, Dr. Omede Idris remarkably and positively related with all and sundry, including his critics. His participatory exploration of ADC on political interests centered to bring development closer to the people and grassroots through elective position.

“Dr Omede Idris was the 2023 Deputy Governorship candidate of the ADC in the 2023 Governorship election, on the Leke Abejide/Omede Idris, Kogi state ADC 2023 ticket. This pair were on the INEC ballot paper.
“Despite facing intense opposition from within and outside his associates, particularly in Kogi East, he stood firm against all odds and buildup, and remained unperturbed in the processes and procedures. At the end of it, the realities dawned on everyone.
“By all rights, Dr Omede remains a critical stakeholder who should not be taken for granted. He remains a committed personality to a cause he rationally believes in and in the dictates of the ADC Party that he contested,” Lawal said.
He called on existing members and supporters of the party, particularly from Kogi East and Kogi state in general, to remain steadfast and committed as ever.
In the same vein, he called on the parties and persons involved in the coalition not to treat existing party members they met with disdain or make attempt to run them over.
“It should be realized that coalition is quite distinct from take over or merger, as the component parties are still in existence.”
Dr Omede Idris thanked and appreciated God Almighty for envisioning the ADC, and expressed confidence that though the party has the enormous responsibility to navigate and sail through the turbulent political landlines to a safe harbour and become victorious, Nigeria and citizens has hope of a better tomorrow.
