The present administration in Kogi State under His Excellency, Governor Idris Ichalla Wada has been applauded for it efforts at developing the game of football in the state.
A stakeholder and ardent fan of Lokoja based football teams, Mallam Jibril Shaib Agbas (a.k.a Strategy) gave the commendation while interacting with newsmen in Lokoja yesterday.
Jibril Agbas pointed to Wada’s swift action is rescuing the state-owned Kogi United Football Club and his continuous support for the team as commendable. He also cited Wada’s donation of bus to Lokoja Football Club, formerly Teachers FC as good move by the governor.
“Unlike before when Kogi United was know to be perennial relegation battlers, Wada has re-engineered the team to become a force to reckon with. Last season, Kogi United were contenders for Premier League ticket”, he buttressed.
Jibril Agbas described the appointment of Mallam Abdul Adama as Chairman of Kogi United and Confluence Queens Football Clubs as the needed masterstroke. He praised the dogged efforts of Abdul Adama in re-positioning and restructuring the two teams.
He urged Gov Wada and Mallam Adama to double their efforts in the coming season to ensure Kgi state become a force to reckon with in the in all important football sub-sector in the continent.
