Flood: Senator Aidoko Express Worry Over The Plight of Ofu, Ibaji Communities

Senator representing Kogi East, Atai Aidoko Ali has described the perennial flooding of the Ofu and Ibaji communities as a source of serious concern.
Aidoko, who made known in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, stated that the current flood menace ravaging communities in Kogi East requires urgent government attention.
He faulted the lip service of both the state and federal governments and called on residents of affected communities to relocate from flood plains without further delay.
The lawmaker bemoaned the loss of farm lands and properties to flooding which has forced many to flee their ancestral homes.
He urged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to come to the aid of the affected communities without further delay.
He urged the ravaged communities to endeavour to move up land for their safety while assuring that his office will continue to mount pressure on federal authorities to urgently provide relief materials to mitigate the situation.
