FG Lauds Kogi Government’s Massive Investment in Primary Healthcare

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), has praised the Kogi Government for its massive investment in primary healthcare centers across the state.

The Executive Director (ED) of NPHCDA, Dr Muyi Aina, gave the commendation at a meeting with the National Health Fellows (NHF) and Performance & Financial Management Officers (PFMOs) during a working visit to Kogi on Friday in Lokoja.

Aina commended the state government for its massive investment in primary healthcare, and appealed for more assistance to further improve healthcare delivery.

He urged the health follows and (PFMOs) to share their experiences on best practices, and commended their efforts to improving quality healthcare delivery in the state.

Aina, who also visited a revitalised Primary Healthcare Center (PHC) in Obuburu PHC, Idanuha ward in Adavi LGA expressed satisfaction with the level of work carried out.

“We appreciate the state government’s commitment to revitalising primary healthcare centers across the state.

“This investment will significantly improve healthcare delivery and outcomes for the people of Kogi,” Aina said.

He expressed his appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for the renewed health sector investment initiative.

He stressed that the initiative had provided opportunities for young people to serve as Health Fellows and PFMOs.

He admonished the health workers to maximise the opportunity given to them by the President, and make meaningful impacts in their communities.

The state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Adeiza Abdulazeez, welcomed Aina and his team to the state, expressing optimism about its potential to further improve healthcare delivery.

Earlier, the Executive Director of the Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA), Dr Musa Muazu, praised Gov. Ahmed Ododo’s investment in primary healthcare centers and it’s operations.

Mu’azu appealed to the federal government and partners for more support to the state.

Mu’azu emphasised that the visit demonstrated the NPHCDA’s commitment to supporting state governments in improving primary healthcare delivery and outcomes.

“The agency’s efforts to engage with state governments and other partners will help to further improve healthcare delivery in Kogi State and across the country,” Mu’azu said.
