As a result of the diversion of route occasioned by the collapse of the Mokwa-Jebba bridge in Niger State, heavy duty vehicles, especially trailers now use the Kabba – Okene road to link up with the northern part of the country and this has resulted in serious damage to our roads thereby causing heavy traffic.
The resultant effect of this has subjected residents, motorists and travellers to untold hardship.
With the heavy rain being predicted this year, hard times are ahead if nothing is done to cushion the difficulties being experienced on the road.
Although, the administration of Kabba/Bunu Local Government under the leadership of Hon. Moses Olorunleke has been very supportive by putting constant palliative measure to further alleviate the hardship being experienced as a result of the deplorable condition of the road.
There’s no gainsaying that the worse a road gets, the more security challenges follow, the more inaccessible essential goods are to market, the more avoidable deaths and injuries are recorded and the more productive time and funds are wasted. This is why the road repair should be given the very urgency it deserves, and it is hoped that something is done before another life is lost.
