The Senate of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has announced the promotion of two academic staff of the University from the rank of Associate Professor/Reader to full Professor
The promotion was announced by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi at the University’s senate 59th meeting held on Thursday.
The promotions followed positive responses received from the external assessments of the senior academic staff’s publications.
They are: Professor Tajudeen Oladele Ahmed of the Department of Physics, and Professor Dauda Tanko, Department of Biological Sciences.
The senate also approved the appointment of Professor Mohammed Suleiman Audu, an erudite Professor of History as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University, following his nomination and election.
Professor M. S. Audu, a distinguished historian and orator, was the pioneer Head of Department, History and International Studies and pioneer Dean of Students’ Affairs, Federal University Lokoja.
Other Members of Senate that attended the meeting included the University Librarian, Dr. (Mrs) Sarah Dauda Yani, all Professors in the University, Deans, Heads of Departments, Directors of Academic Units, as well as the Registrar, Mr. Usman Suleman Obansa who is the Secretary to Senate.
