Fashion is a non-verbal form of communication that conveys a lot about your personality. Earlier, fashion was something that used to be found only among the affluent class of people. But now the times have changed. These days the class doesn’t matter in any way on the road to becoming fashionable. In fact, everybody is fashionable these days.
Fashion not only embraces clothing or makeup but in a broader sense also includes the accessory that you carry and the way you carry yourself and your attitude plays a major role in the way you practice fashion.
Subliminal message on the type of person you are or what kind of personality you have is often given by the clothes you wear or the colors you choose for your dress.
I have heard of people saying, “dress up for the job you want; not the job you have” or “if it looks good, it feels good.” We always try to match our attire to the occasion, even those who don’t believe in the sayings. There is the backing of research that supports facts. Through proper research, we now suggest that the clothes we wear affect our mood, attitudes, behavior, and confidence.
Here we will discuss some Impacts of Fashions on Personality:
1- Enhances Elegance

Elegance is all about the “quality of being refined and trendy in impression and behavior; the characteristic of being nicely creative and natural.
The dressing sense of a person reflects his status, attitude, character, and mood. It ultimately reflects his or her personality. If a person is well-dressed, he or she will gain utmost importance on any occasion. Today is the time when people judge your standard by your clothes. Fashion has become a souvenir of the standard. So, try to be a little fashionable so that it enhances your elegance.
2- Boosts confidence
Fashion ultimately boosts your confidence. Wearing a good type of clothing can allot your confidence an enormous boost. If you love what you are wearing, it will express itself on the outside, boosting your personality.
Wearing a formal suit with a tie boosts confidence while giving an interview. This provides the person with a sense of feeling of being in control of the situation, which increase the work spirit and performance. Therefore we can say suits give a sense of empowerment.
3- Creativity inducing
The way you dress changes the way you perceive the environment, people, and objects around you. It makes you look at things from different perceptions with more light for creativity. The clothes we wear affect not only our personality but also our mental health and our physical condition. Fashion brings creativity to life. It creates an avenue for a person to express a lot using accessories and costumes.
4- Self impression
Wearing the right accessories and costumes makes you the center of attraction. You influence people with your personality when you dress according to how you are. “The first impression is the last impression” clothes are usually most appealing and noticeable to a person. It can not be ignored at any chance; clothing can influence the impression people will have about you. Social status, cultural values, and norms are reflected by the clothes you wear. Personal branding is gaining popularity day by day. It’s for everyone.
Each detail from body type and skin color to wardrobe counts for your style and affects your self image.
In conclusion, fashion is a way of saying who you are without having to speak . Blaire Waldorf (from my favorite tv series, gossip girls)says, “fashion is the most powerful art there is, it’s movement, design and architecture, all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we will like to be. “
