The deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last governorship election in Kogi state, Hon. James Faleke, has called on his supporters to disregard information being passed around that he is party to the political rally purported arranged by supporters of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state.

The planned political rally scheduled to hold in Kabba on Saturday.

Faleke, in a message to his supporters, said the planners of the rally are dropping his name to woo attendees.

“My attention has be drawn to a planned rally for APC this weekend at Kabba and the organizers are using my name to invite members. Please, note that I am not involved. It is Governor Yahaya Bello rally and not APC,” he said.
It was gathered that Senator Smart Adeyemi and appointees of Governor Bello are the brains behind the purported rally.
Smart allegedly met with Local Government administrators and other appointees of Governor Bello from the seven LGAs in Kogi West at Riverton Hotel, Lokoja on Tuesday to finalise arrangements for the political rally. The meeting, according to a source, lasted for four hours.
The former senator reportedly mandated the administrators to mobilize 500 persons each to the rally.
The motive behind the rally, our source said, is to prove to the world that Governor Bello enjoys immense support among Okun people. This, he said, became imperative following the unfortunate scenario at the Kabba Day on November 4 that saw the Governor returning to the state capital without attending the event that was graced by his political foe, Senator Dino Melaye.
The image laundering rally is expected to change the narrative postulated by Melaye after the Kabba Day celebration.
