Dr. Kayode Ehindero, Executive Director, Nigerian Workforce Strategy and Enlightenment Centre, has described the incessant robberies and kidnappings in Kogi State as a hangover from the last election.
Ehindero, who was reacting to the June 4 Isanlu robbery, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Ilorin, Kwara State on Monday that the election was characterised by terror and hooliganism.
He said the last election in Kogi State was pathetic and should not be used as a reference point for young people in Nigeria.
He said: “It is time electoral processes in Nigeria are devoid of violence and hooliganism.
“I enjoin young people, especially those who live in states, where elections are underway, not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to achieve their aims because they will be dumped eventually.
“I also encourage young people to look inward and join hands with great Nigerian workers to build the nation.”
According to the executive director, joblessness thrives because the nation lacks creative leaders, who can translate Nigerian’s numerous needs into job creation.
Ehindero charged students to seek positive mentorship as an alternative to schooling during the lockdown of education centres due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
