There was excitement at Ijumu local government area secretariat at Iyara after the Caretaker Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna restored electricity to office premises after 10 years of total darkness.
Staff of the local government could not hold their joy after the power supply was restored, describing the gesture as a new dawn and a show that better days are ahead for the people of the area.
The Caretaker Chairman had during a meeting with management and staff of the local government promised to restore power to create a conducive atmosphere for them to discharge their assignment.
The staff described Alh. Haruna as a talk-and-do man, saying he is a gift to the staff and people of Ijumu local government area.
One of the staff, who does not want his name mentioned said “this is the kind of man we have been praying for. He promised us electricity few days ago and he has fulfilled. God, we thank you for giving us this man.”
They commended Governor Yahaya Bello for the appointment of Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim as Caretaker Chairman, adding that his appointment was a step in the right direction.
