A former President, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Senator Smart Adeyemi, has expressed gratitude to Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, the Okun Development Association (ODA) and kindhearted Nigerians for their huge donations to the wife of the Vanguard reporter, Mrs Bolu Obahopo, who was involved in a ghastly motor accident.
Senator Adeyemi made this known in Abuja after donating one million Naira to support the Vanguard correspondent wife’s post-surgery expenses.
He commended Governor Bello for his generous donation of N2.5 million to the family of Boluwaji Obahopo of offset the surgery expenses that was carried out successfully few days ago.
Adeyemi said he was encouraged by the response of the Governor and have complimented the good gesture with his personal donation of N1million to Boluwaji’s family.
He described the Vanguard correspondent as “a friend, professional colleague and indeed a brother”.
He equally commended the efforts put in place by Okun Development Association (ODA) ably led by her President, Barr. Femi Mokikan, in mobilizing supports for the family.
The lawmaker called on well-meaning Nigerians and Kogites to rally round the family as the wife recuperates.
Adeyemi’s donation will go a long way in helping the family get a wheel chair, therapeutic bed and other prescribed support materials needed by Mrs Obahopo during physiotherapy and healing processes.
