Former Governor of Ekiti State and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Engineer Segun Oni has members of PDP in Kogi State to remain vigilant even though the party won the December 3 governorship elections.
In his words, he said, “the battle should not be seen as being over yet. Kogi people should remain vigilant!”
Segun Oni said this in his reaction to the victory recorded by his party, PDP, in the last Saturday governorship election in Kogi state.
He also described the landslide victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded governorship election in Kogi State as that of light over darkness.
Engr Oni congratulated the people of Kogi State for rejecting “those whose only agenda is the expansion of their political and economic territory, with a view to exploiting the people to enrich themselves, as they are doing in Osun and Ekiti states that they purchased through their allies in the judiciary.”
He said: “I congratulate the Governor-Elect, Capt. Idris Wada, the Deputy Governor-elect, Mr. Yomi Awoniyi, our great party; the PDP and most importantly the entire people of Kogi State for this resounding victory.
“They will go to the Tribunal and try what they did in Ekiti and Osun states. They will even in their usual desperation try to manipulate already thumprinted ballot papers like they did in Ekiti State, in what is now known as ‘ibo lehin ibo’ (voting after voting)”
