The Etsu Lokoja, HRH Emmanuel Akamisoko Dauda Shelika – Nyamkpa IV, has congratulated Christians in Lokoja, Kogi State, Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of 2025 Easter celebration.
In his goodwill message made available to journalists on Sunday in Lokoja, Dauda Shelika, admonished the people to emulate Jesus Christ who patiently endured the painful experiences but remained glued to the ultimate goal of redeeming mankind.
The royal father called for continued prayers for leaders across board especially Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo, for God to continue to grant him wisdom and clear direction to lead Kogi State to the promised land.
“HRH Emmanuel Akamisoko Dauda Shelika – Nyamkpa IV, The Etsu Lokoja rejoice with the Christian faithfuls across the world and in Lokoja and Kogi State in particular on the occasion of this year’s Easter Celebration.
“Easter Celebration is in commemoration of the highpoint of the Christian faith being the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from death after suffering the worst human rejection, injustice, torture, humiliation and literal death.
“In deed, to the Christian, if Jesus didn’t rise, faith is useless because there would have been nothing to hope for.
“The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ therefore inspires us all to expect light at the end of the tunnel regardless of whatever bitter experiences we could have or be passing through as individuals and as a nation. We can hope for the best!
“To this end, I encourage us all to emulate Jesus Christ who patiently endured the painful experiences but remained glued to the ultimate goal of redeeming mankind from eternal damnation and restoring the humanity of man in harmony with the divinity of God to make the world a better place for all.
“As a people, all hands should be on deck to change our narratives and tales of pain. We must all demonstrate high sense of responsibility towards achieving the society of our dream.
“Let us patiently devote more commitment as individuals to corroborate the efforts of Government at all levels.
“We have a duty to continue to pray for our leaders across board especially for our amiable Governor, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo that God will continue to grant him wisdom and clear direction to lead Kogi State to the promised land.
“In the same vein, I implore us to uphold our dynamic Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Comr. Abdullahi Adamu in prayers for wisdom to direct the affairs of Lokoja Local Government aright.
“Our dream for a better society is possible if we unite in love, peace, patience, honesty, determination and hard work to make it happen as Jesus did and if we say NO to selfishness, injustice, oppression, greed, corruption, violence and insecurity to life and property.
“May God preserve us all in peace and good health to witness very many more Easter Celebrations.
