Social commentator and current affair analyst, Comrade Tahiru Nurudeen has written to the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Rt. Ahmed Muhammed representing Ankpa I and his colleague, Hon. Momoh Rabiu Ishaka Alfa representing Ankpa II, to nip the perennial black out in the local government area in the bud.

According to the letter, if this menace can be well attended to, Ankpa would attract a lot of investors which will consequently reduce the accelerating unemployment rate in the community.

The letter read:

Sir, first and foremost, I wish to start by categorically commending your colossal efforts in handling and steering the affairs of the constituencies during your first tenure. Believe me, none of the constituents can easily be left ungrateful in your remarkable first tenure.

Hon. Ahmed Muhammed, you worked assiduously to consolidate achievements that you made prior to your assumption of legislative role. Efforts which can not be left in the dustbin of history but worth recounting on daily basis. Your contributions to the development of education and infrastructures such as awarding of scholarships to many students and drilling of boreholes in many communities are noteworthy. Indeed you are a true leader.

In similar vein, Hon. Rabiu Alfa can not be left unappreciated. Your efforts at revamping infrastructures within Ankpa II is commendable. Indeed you have written your name in gold.

However, it is pertinent to register my dissatisfaction on poor electricity power supply ravaging Ankpa LG of Kogi state. Ankpa LG has been and currently in absolute blackout for years. It’s so piteous and painful to see Ankpa LG, one of the largest LG in Kogi state, in such a mess.

Sir, permit me to remind you both that the place of electricity can not be underscored in the society. In a society where there is destitute of constant and stable power supply, businesses, industrial activities, education and other means of livelihood can not grow or transmogrify.

Ankpa local government is blessed with business moguls and great entrepreneurs, but it’s becoming obvious and crystal clear that the business tycoons can not establish profitable companies or invest in their various businesses because of poor power supply.

In a society where there is no place to work, the youths will always indulge in petty stealing, armed robbery, kidnapping and other atrocious way of living. May ours be free from such.

Therefore, I am seeking for your indulgence to rescue Ankpa LG from the total blackout, most especially Ankpa II which is lagging behind woefully.

Most distinguished Honorables, it is not absolutely mannerless to remind us that the essence of masses voting is not far from effective representation. It is in this regard we repose our trust in you for effective and efficient representation. The task of leadership is to move people from their near unpleasant point to an excelling spot. I must say that one of the hallmarks of leadership is to achieve a greater impacts or yearning positive impact on the life of the populace.

Finally, I have never doubted your distinct capabilities, your administration will be more effective and remembered if the menace of electricity supply is been tackled forthwith in Ankpa LG.

I won’t hesitate to show accolades and immeasurable appreciation if this letter is given a favorable response and consideration.
