A grassroot mobilization group, Team JOS for Ododo, has hailed the immense contributions of Engineer Joseph Olusegun Stephen in the massive victory recorded by All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yagba West local government area of Kogi state in the recently concluded governorship election.
Speaking with our reporter in Lokoja on Wednesday, Coordinator of Team JOS, Mr. Bamidele Sunday, said the November 11 governorship won by APC candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo, proved beyond doubt that Engr. Joseph is a well-loved leader.
Bamidele expressed gratitude to all leaders and stakeholders of the party in Yagba West for their roles in the emphatic victory, stressing that their individual and collective contributions were appreciated as a tree cannot make a forest.
He noted that APC had never recorded the kind of victory witnessed in Yagba West during the governorship election where Ododo won all the 14 wards with clear margins.
He noted that Engr. Joseph, who was the Director General, APC Campaign Council for Yagba West, is a team-player who believes everyone is important in a worthy cause, adding that his open-door and all-inclusive policies ensured victory for the party at the poll.
“After he was made Director General of the Ododo/Oyibo campaign in Yagba West, Engr Joseph Olusegun made a financial contribution of initial N10million to aid mass mobilization for the party. He spent a lot more in the course of the electioneering campaigns.
“He opened a campaign office for Ododo/Oyibo in Yagba West, led campaigns in all 14 wards, meeting stakeholders, traditional rulers, women and youth groups.
‘He also ensured most of the aggrieved members were brought back into the fold.
“Youths in Yagba West are urging him to continue his leadership roles of inclusiveness,” he said.
Bamidele added that as the Coordinator, Kogi West Youth for Ododo/Oyibo Campaign, Engr. Joseph activated his political structures across the zone, oiling all available machineries for the party.
“In conjunction with the formidable Engr Joseph Political Dynasty, he organized youth rallies across Kogi West senatorial district. This was a first of its kind which was singlehandedly sponsored by an individual, not party or government.
“The youth rally in Kabba witnessed mammoth turnout. He worked hard with his political structures across Kogi West to make the campaign easier us his lieutenants.”
