A major stakeholder of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Engr. John Ibrahim Ocheje has saluted the Kogi East voters for their courage and overwhelming support given to APC in the conduct of Saturday’s 23rd January 2019 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
Engr. John was a Kogi East senatorial aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who defected to APC to form synergy to defeat PDP and those he referred to as the “enemies of Kogi East.
Engr. John Ibrahim left PDP after the party refused to conduct primary election but gave Senator Atai Aidoko an automatic ticket despite having sold him and his fellow aspirants nomination forms.
Defecting from PDP, Engr. John vouched to use his enormous political energy and his overwhelming supports of his teeming followers across Kogi east to ensure the victory of APC as he noted that the PDP has failed him and the people on so many occasions across the senatorial district.
The APC entrusted Engr. John Ibrahim with Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for Ibaji his Local Government Area and conferred him the status of one of the major stakeholders of the party in the state.
From the conducts of the Saturday’s 23rd January 2019 Presidential and National Assembly Elections, Engr. John Ibrahim delivered his unit to APC by 210 votes to defeat the PDP which polled 19 votes at Ojiala his polling unit in Ayah Ward. He delivered his ward equally to the APC.
Delivering his Local Government Area, the following votes were recorded; Presidential election; APC-13,545 PDP-10,307. Senatorial election; APC-13,879, PDP-8,645 and for House of Representatives; APC-13,573 PDP-8,667 making APC victorious for all positions contested for.
He recounted that, “it is historical in Ibaji that another party different from PDP has won the local government area in the last 12 years.
Engr. John Ibrahim has congratulated Hon. David Zachariah the elected House of Representative member to represent Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela/Odolu and Ofu LGA.
He extended his felicitation message to all the winners of the National Assembly elections across Kogi east and Kogi state in general noting that the victory of the party is for all while urging the district electorates in the area declared for re-run for the senatorial race to come out in their numbers and affirm his party’s victory.
To this end, Engr. John Ibrahim wishes Alhaji Jibrin Isah Echocho victory in the upcoming re-run while assuring him the electorates in the district no doubt would reaffirmed their support for the APC to the glory of Igala and Bassa land.
