There is no gainsaying to the political stance of the people of Kogi Central Senatorial district especially the residents of Ihima in Okehi Local Government Area as they recently asked for the continuity of President Muhammadu Buhari and Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
In a thanksgiving prayer and reception programme organised in Ihima by the Chairman of Kogi State Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO), Hajia Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman, Ebira people made an unequivocal statement on the necessity for the continuity of the reformative and systemic cleansing of the Federal Government which according them has been domesticated in Kogi State by President Buhari’s political godson, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
While delivering a speech, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, His Royal Majesty, Dr Ado Ibrahim who was recently conferred as the ‘Father of Mining in Nigeria’ harped on the sensitivity of Mineral Resources and Environmental Committee to the economy diversification effort of the Federal and Kogi State Governments, just as he expressed optimism that Hajia Hassiat would initiate necessary reforms in the mining sector of the state.
The Royal Father who reminisced his long years in the Mining field said with the appointment of credible people like Hajia Hassiat in the mining sector of the state, Kogi would soon leap from the clutch of youths unemployment by the time the abundant mineral resources are harnessed.
He admonished Ebira people to be resolute and supportive of the administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, noting that patience and prayers are required to salvage endemic ills inherited by the present administration.
A concise but brief citation anchored by Hajia Zainab Atima revealed that Hajia Hassiat was compelled into campus politics by her peers who adjudged her to be credible, upright and committed to assuage the suffering of her constituents, an assertion which was wholly seconded by the Commissioner for Works, Lands and Housing, Engr Abdulmumin Sadiq who represented Governor Yahaya Bello averred that she is an epitome of the proverbial ’round peg in the round hole’ his principal has called to serve in his government.
He assured the people that while security of lives and property remain germane to the present administration, massive road construction which was stopped as a result of rainy season will resume in no distant time.
Also speaking, the Director-General of Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation, Mr Abdulmalik Abdulkarim enjoined the people to as a matter of patriotism, partake in the continuous voter’s registration so as be equipped for their civic responsibility of electing credible leaders in the forthcoming general election.
He urged them not to wane in their support for President Muhammadu Buhari and Alhaji Yahaya Bello who he described as having similar political ideology.
In a vote of thanks, the visibly elated Hajia Hassiat Suleiman charged the women of the state to secure their future today by supporting the present administration which is built on equity, fairness and justice.
She declared that ever since she dabbled into politics, she has vowed to ameliorate the suffering of the people in her capacity.
She profusely appreciated Governor Yahaya Bello for finding her worthy to serve in his government.
Apart from the dozens of women groups and entertainers that thrilled the guests, the programme had in attendance Chairman of Kogi State Sports Council, Hon. Abdulmaliki Isa Dolly; Chairman, Kogi State Pension Board, Hajia Sabdat Atima; former Chairman of Okene Local Government Area, Alhaji Yahaya Karaku and the Ohi of Ihima, His Royal Highness, Abdulrahim Ogido and other top government functionaries.
