Wonder shall never end. APC Kogi has done the outrageous. They have finally given democracy a befitting burial. And they have equally murdered justice on the altar of mischief. Whoever sees APC Kogi as people’s government, perhaps, a government by the people is simply suffering under a delusion. As a matter of fact, what we have as government is simply a kleptocratic autocrats who will not relinquish power in a hurry.
This is a grand injustice and parody on the rule of law by the people who consider themselves as progressive character. They have demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that democratic ideology is insignificant. Indeed, their actions has portrayed them as blustering anti-democrats, political gamblers and anti-progress.
I saw it coming like a formed cloud. I have cried aloud hoping the relevant authorities would wade into action to avoid this crime against democracy. I thought Mr. President has ordered his kids to avoid such heinous acts. Hence, his order to the military to clamp down on the perpetrators. Little did I know it was just a pretentious order to discrepantly abate themselves of intimidation.
Let the whole world bear witness. APC-Kogi has buried democracy forever. And it will not resurrect for as long as they remain in power. They have tyrannically disenfranchised the people, in Dekina, Ofu, and others. It was so comfortably orchestrated and the perpetrators are moving about feeling unrestrained. I have not seen such a lunatic and sycophantic molding of governing before.

At the early hours of yesterday, there were sporadic shooting in Abocho ward 1&2 polling units by APC thugs. This were their major tactics of carting away with ballot boxes. In fact, an APC sponsored and well armed thugs, was said to have shot someone at one of the polling units. In Owole-Apa/water tank polling unit (Idah LG), vote buying APC was massive. Voters were asked to raise their ballot papers in confirmation that they actually voted APC before they get paid contrary to the stipulated law that vote casted by a voter should remain secret. As a matter of fact, voters were given the sum of N1, 000 before and another N1, 000 after confirming they have actually voted APC. This is how mean and boring APC Kogi is. They have reduced political destinies to two thousand Naira in Kogi state. And the helpless citizens felt fulfilled exchanging their destinies with a common 2000 that can prepare a pot of soup.
Let’s move on. Anyigba (Dekina LG) was their epicenter of carnage yesterday. In Ogane-aji, voters were been virtually forced to vote APC by their sponsored thugs. An act contrary to the constitutional rights of an individual to vote his choice candidate. In Ajetachi polling unit, a young man (Daniel Usman) 19, was shot dead by APC thugs, ballot papers and boxes snatched away to unknown location. In Agala Ate polling unit, voting did not take place as an APC thug who also hailed from the community had earlier warned that residence should forget voting in the Saturday’s general election.
The thug, according to an insider was said to have been surviving on thuggery for ages. He has earlier been accused of receiving the sum of N1.3 million to deliver the polling unit to APC. And during the voting exercise on Saturday, his colleagues (boys) were said to have marred other party agents from coming close to the venue.
Moreover, it was recorded that INEC materials meant for the PU was brought in a private car suspected to be filled by thugs. And before they knew it, the thugs in connivance with INEC officials left the PU with the ballot boxes they initially brought. In totality, 18 polling units’ ballot boxes were destroyed and 9 others were snatched to the OLS Anyigba where illegal thumprinting was conducted by APC thugs.
Findings also revealed that election was conducted in just two polling units in the whole Anyigba metropolis. Yet, pyric victory will be declared in favor of the ruling party.
In Ofu LGA. The APC administrator alongside his boys prevented voters from voting other parties than APC at Ugwolawo Ward 1 (002). In Ofakaga ward 1, APC thug was said to have forcefully taken the ballot box away.
In Ofakaga Ikona polling unit, photos emerged of some thugs been aided by military officers snatching the ballot boxes into Sharon Siena car with a Lagos plate number XV472-APP. Ofakaga ward Amana, polling unit 008 was destroyed by APC thugs whereas, ballot papers was said to have been counted.
Now the question is who were the presiding officers to that polling unit? Voters around the environ confirmed they did not vote. Yet, there were thumb printed ballot papers.
Still in Ofu, Egume Barrack 1&3 were not given the senatorial ballot papers. And people could not vote due to the missing ballot papers. At a point, it was revealed that some ballot boxes snatched were assembled in the house of a former Ofu LGA administrator’s father’s house behind Ejule market where he personally supervised a massive thumb printing on Saturday.
In Odu ward 2 Okagu, APC thugs snatched away electoral materials alongside INEC officials. Towards the conclusion of the exercise yesterday, a collation officer in Iyale was kidnapped by APC thugs. The supervisor was also forced to write fake results. Let it be noted that whatever figure been given from Iyale is fake.
These and the host of others, were APC Kogi’s anti-democratic processes through which democracy was murdered and buried on Saturday.
Most appalling, the security personnel attached to these polling units all compromised. Those at the scene of ballot snatching were either seen aiding it or were withdrawn before the arrival of thugs. What a country! As if that’s is not all, APC Kogi’s thugs mounted road block in Ajaokuta at the early hours of Sunday purposely to divert results coming from the Eastern part of the state. This is how our self-acclaimed progressive minds plunged Kogi state abyss. People who derides selflessness in the mode of Nelson Mandela but in disguise, live flashily while the masses live in penury. They have no objective repentance in their evil manners. Their priority is perpetual crime against humanity.
For some of us (lovers of democracy), I have told my children that we shall celebrate it grand in styles. But unfortunately, we ended up been thrown into mourning. Our mouth have been sealed and we look and leap but lack mouths to alter.
Our hard earned democracy, our sacred democracy has been raped to death by buccaneers, traducers, money changers and agents of political malpractices who are obsessed with the projected new vision of governance. They obviously have no core values that extend beyond the stretch of an arm.
No wonder, APC Kogi has once declared they have already won the 2019 election, and are waiting for the day to announce the result. But it will be disgraceful to the Africa’s giant nation, the Independent National Electoral Commission, president Buhari and his integrity if APC Kogi is allowed to declare themselves winner with this gun point result. Why? Because, in the history of our democracy election has never been this hostile.
As a matter of reality, the blood shed is too much of a supposed peaceful transition. We are calling on the INEC to ensure justice is upheld. We are also calling on the relevant authorities including the security chief to put the officers who compromised at the polling units behind bars.
Nigerians should hear us all. Election should be cancelled in Kogi East. This is not the democracy we labored so hard to install. Nigerians should here us. NGOs and humanitarian organizations, agencies and parastatals should come to our rescue. We are crying for justice in Kogi East. Once again, what we had in Kogi East on Saturday was an outright trespassing on the rule of law and orderliness.
Nigerians we look up to you. Save us in Kogi East.
