The Administrator of Adavi Local Government Council, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami has assured residents and visitors of adequate security during the Ekuechi and Okehi festivals.
The festival is scheduled to hold on Tuesday November 26.
Salami gave the assurance during a meeting with Adavi traditional high chiefs, masquerade custodians, ward and district heads and security agencies in his office on Monday.
This is coming after a similar meeting last Saturday where strategies were jointly mapped out on how to curtail celebration excesses that may result in violence.
The council boss commended the stakeholders at the meeting for the loyalty demonstrated during the last governorship election. He urged them to maintain peace throughout the celebrations and not to indulge in any criminal activities as we celebrate Okehi-Ekuechi festival.
He added that if anyone is found wanting, he will not hesitate to make that person face the wrath of law.
Hon. Salami thereafter held a meeting with youth groups. He implored them to engage in meaningful activities to earn a living, counseling those without academic certificates to register for exams and those learning skill work to obtain trade test certificate to get them prepared for future opportunities.
The strategic meeting was attended by the APC Party Chairman, Hon. Barnabas Oyibo, the SA on political Matter, Hon. Yusuf Nasiru Ekunu, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Ismaila Ozi-Isah, the Campaign Council Chairman, Hon. Yakubu Osivave Osondo, SSA on Youths mobilization, Hon. Yusuf AbdulWahab (Ozuwaya), APC LG Vice Chairman, Hon. AbdulRahaman Shuaibu, Director of Security, Mall Musa Adams, Chief Security Officer, Hon. Ismaila Yakubu and host of others.
