Ahead of today’s Eika cultural festival celebration, the Executive Chairman of Okene local government council, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad has tasked all masquerade custodians, stakeholders and their supporters to be law abiding and ensure the festival is celebrated peacefully.
Hon. Abdulrazaq gave the warning at an interactive meeting with custodians of night masquerades, cultural union, stakeholders and their supporters to fashion out ways and modalities of celebrating the festival with respect to the existing peace in the council.
According to the Council boss, security of lives and property remain a top priority of his administration, hence, any activity that is capable of threaten the peace of the land will not be supported.
He tasked stakeholders involved in the cultural festival to conduct themselves properly and be law abiding.
He said security agencies have been placed on high alert to ensure there is no break down of law and order before, during and after the festivals.
The stakeholders accepted the terms and conditions and promised that the celebration will be peaceful.
