The Special Adviser on Labour Matters to the Kogi State Government, Comrade Onuh Edoka, has commended Gov. Usman Ododo for prompt payment of workers’ June salaries.

Edoka, in a statement on Saturday in Lokoja, said Ododo had made unprecedented history for paying salary before June 17, to enable workers enjoy a worthwhile Sallah celebration.

Edoka, a former Kogi Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), noted that only the administration of Col. Zigu Afakiriya as Military Administrator paid salaries on the 19th of the month.

“There is wild jubilation amongst Kogi workers by reason of the history made by the present administration; the people oriented government and one for the workers of the state,” Edoka said.

He emphasised that his interactions with Labour leaders and workers in his office, revealed that the workers were happy that the government of their choice has come into power.

The special adviser described Ododo’s feats as unprecedented, and urged the workers to support and see the present administration as a government that had their interest at heart.

Edoka advised the workers to give in all their best as they would surely reap the benefits of supporting the administration of Gov Ododo.

He assured the governor of the total support and loyalty of Kogi workers to the present administration.

The former labour leader implored well meaning individuals in the state to teem up with the administration to succeed and in building a virile and united Kogi State.

Edoka celebrated with the Muslim faithful, and urged them to dwell on the lessons of the celebration, to be sacrificial and to work towards the unity of the state.
