Eid-el Fitr: Kogi Environment Commissioner Urges Muslims to Uphold Ramadan Virtues

Muslim faithful have been enjoined to continue puting into practice the virtues and lessons learned during the just-concluded Ramadan fasting.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Engr. Joseph Oluwasegun, made the call in his Sallah message to the people of the state. The message was contained in a press statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Ministry and made available to newsmen.

He emphasized that Ramadan is a period of spiritual renewal, self-discipline, and compassion, urging Muslims to uphold these values beyond the holy month.

Engr. Oluwasegun also called for sustained prayers for peace, unity, and development in Kogi State and Nigeria at large, stressing that only through collective efforts can societal progress be achieved.

The Commissioner extended warm felicitations on behalf of his family, the Ministry, and its agencies to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, members of the State Executive Council, the leadership of the All Progresive party(APC), the people of yagba west and the good people of Kogi state.

He expressed joy over the peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebrations and emphasized the importance of fostering unity, love, and harmony among citizens.

He further encouraged the people to remain committed to supporting the state government, noting that their cooperation has been instrumental in the administration’s achievements within the past few months.

He assured them that more developmental projects aimed at improving their lives would soon be initiated, urging continued collaboration for the progress of the state.

While congratulating Muslim faithfuls on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, Engr. Oluwasegun reiterated the need for environmental consciousness. He urged residents to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings, especially in the proper disposal of waste during and after the Eid celebrations.

According to him, the Ministry remains committed to ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment, calling on the public to cooperate with relevant authorities in waste management and sanitation efforts.

He concluded by wishing all Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration, expressing hope that the lessons of Ramadan would continue to guide their daily lives.
