Gov Yahaya Bello of Kogi on Thursday, reaffirmed his commitment to continue to lead the people of the state with fairness, equity and justice guiding his actions.
Bello gave the assurance in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Petra Onyegbule in Lokoja, as he joined the Muslims all over the world in thanksgiving for the end of Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The governor used the occasion to reiterate the commitment of his administration to ensure that the people of Kogi were treated with fairness, equity and justice irrespective of tribe, religious or political affiliations.
Bello said that the spiritual exercise which had culminated in the celebration of Eid Al-Fitr was one in which the Almighty Allah had promised reward in this world and the next,
He, therefore, called on the people to use the opportunity to reflect on all the blessings of God upon individuals, state and as a nation.
“We may not be where we want to be yet, but we are definitely not where we were, and with unity, love and faith, we will get to where we ought to be.
“We are confident that in no distant future, our people will reap the benefit of the labour of our administration in diversifying the economy and ensuring our state becomes prosperous.
The governor enjoined all the people to join hands together and be peacefully and live a godly life, not just this period but always.
He prayed that the blessings of the Holy Month would abide with all believers forever.
