The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, has ordered a watertight security across the state.
A statement issued by the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, in Lokoja on Saturday, confirmed that CP Dantawaye has also deployed personnel and resources to black spots and other vulnerable spots for proactive crime prevention and detection and to deter criminals.
The Police Commissioner heartily felicitate Muslim faithful on the occasion of 2025 Ed-El-Ftr celebrations and reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment in synergy with other security agencies in ensuring the safety of lives and property of all, while denying hoodlums space to cause security breach in the state.
The CP tasked all the DPOs and their supervisory Area Commanders as well as tactical commanders to deploy adequate security assets ahead of the celebration to deny hoodlums space to cause security breach and also to ensure a peaceful celebration.
“They are expected to conduct undercover operations in these areas to prevent and detect crime promptly.
“DPOs were equally directed to carry out intensive crime prevention/confidence building patrols along the major highways, places of worship, Residential and vulnerable points, and other places of interest,” the statement added.
CP Dantawaye urged the good people of Kogi State to be security conscious throughout the period and beyond. He urged them to collaborate with the Police and other security agencies through information sharing on the activities of hoodlums in the state.
