Eid-al-Fitr: Rep Abejide Felicitates With Muslims, Urges Them to Shun Religious Extremism, Embrace Unity

The member representing Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamuro Federal Constituency Asiwaju Leke Abejide has extended warm felicitations to Muslims in Yagba Federal Constituency and across Nigeria as the 2026 Ramadan season comes to an end and Eid al-Fitr is celebrated across the globe.

In his message on Thursday, Hon. Leke Abejide commended the Muslim Ummah for their steadfast devotion to fasting, prayers, and charity during the 30-day fasting period, noting that their commitment reflects the values of strong faith sacrifice, discipline, and compassion that are essential to building a more cohesive and progressive nation.

He harped on the Muslim faithful to sustain the virtues of peace, tolerance, and maintain the good level of spirituality that characterized the Ramadan period throughout the year, stating that the nation’s strength lies in its diversity and shared commitment to the common good of the people.

Hon. Leke Abejide admonished Muslims to put the teachings of the holy month to good use in all undertakings, urging them and adherents of other religions to continue to live in love, peace, and harmony with one another and shun religious extremism.

While noting that Ramadan is a season of discipline and sacrifice, Hon. Leke enjoined religious leaders to establish their teachings on love, and common prosperity as against radical doctrines that promote violent extremism and religious intolerance.

“Let your counsel promote love, shared prosperity, and active participation in governance, do not relent in your sundry constructions to religious harmony and peaceful atmosphere”.

“The prayers by the Muslim faithful are needed for the Yagba, Kogi state, and the country more than ever for God’s blessings and for a greater level of peace and prosperity across the country”, he said.

He urged adherents of all religions in the state to join the government in promoting peace and orderliness which are necessary conditions for sustainable growth and development, leading to shared prosperity for all.

On the occasion of this year’s sallah celebration, Hon. Leke Abejide felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the Eid-al- Fitr celebration, and prayed that Almighty Allah will accept all their prayers, grant all supplications, and preserve our lives to witness many more celebrations.”, Abejide added.
