Kogi Central Senator-elect, Dr Yakubu Oseni has in the spirit of the Ramadan season, called on Nigerians especially his constituents to celebrate the season in the way that glorifies the teachings of the period.
Dr Oseni made the call in Lokoja, the state capital recently in his Ramadan message to his constituents.
According to him, Eid Al- Fitr is celebrated to show gratitude to our Creator Allah for giving us the strength, health, and a chance to fulfil our obligation to fast and do good deeds during the holy month.
“As muslims all round the world celebrate Eid Al-Fitr, I admonish the muslim faithful especially those from my constituency to adhere to the precepts of Islam for the celebration.
“It should not be a time to engage in unholy activities that will deny us of our blessings for fasting during the month of Ramadan. It is a time of merriment with our people and our activities should influence those of other religious beliefs to fall in love with Islam,” he said.
While he further gave thanks to God for the strength that carried Muslims through the month, the senator-elect enjoined the people not to deviate from the teachings of the season just as he expressed optimism that its reward is abundant.
Dr Oseni therefore enjoined all his constituents to pray for Nigeria leaders who he said are bestowed with the onerous task of repositioning the country, and Kogi State especially as we move towards another period of election.
