Eid-Al-Adha: Ijumu Caretaker Chairman Preaches Unity, Tolerance, Sacrifice

The Transition Caretaker Chairman Ijumu local government of Kogi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, has called on Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, love, unity of purpose and obedience as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and upheld by Prophet Muhammad.

Alhaji Haruna, in a good will message he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Sunday, congratulated Muslims faithful for witnessing another Eid festival.

He rejoiced with Muslims faithful in the local government on the occasion of this year’s Eid-al-adha Sallah celebration.

The caretaker Chairman described the Eid-al-adha as a period of sacrifice, sharing and caring, while assuring of a peaceful celebration in the local government and Kogi State in particular as the government is in touch with security agencies to ensure that they celebrate the Sallah in peace and harmony.

He urged the good people of Ijumu LGA to be security conscious and report any act of breach of law and order capable of threatening the prevailing peace in the local government and the state in particular.

“On behalf of myself, my family, the government and the good people of Ijumu Local Government Area, I rejoice with our brothers and sisters in Islam across the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid-al-Kabir,” he said.

He also felicitated with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, former Governor Yahaya Bello, members of the State Executive Council, Speaker and members of Kogi State House of Assembly and traditional rulers on the great celebration.
