The young influencer, political activist and youths advocate, Edison Atumeyi Edime, has passionately appealed to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to approve and release Christmas bonuses for state and local government civil servants, as well as pensioners, ahead of the festive season.

Edison described the call as a moral and humanitarian plea, stressing that the economic reality in the country has left many workers and retirees struggling to survive. He noted that paying their Christmas bonuses would not only bring comfort and happiness to families but also demonstrate the Governor’s commitment to social justice, equity, and the welfare of the people.

In his heartfelt message on Thursday, Edison said: “Our civil servants and pensioners have endured enough hardship. They deserve to celebrate this Christmas with dignity, joy, and peace of mind. Paying their bonuses will be a compassionate act that reflects leadership with a human face.”

He further emphasized that both active workers and retirees are the backbone of the state’s administrative and developmental structure, and therefore deserve recognition for their years of service and sacrifice.

Edison urged the Governor to act swiftly, saying that such a gesture would rekindle faith in governance and send a powerful message that Kogi State truly values its workforce and elders who have served the state diligently.
