Sen. Smart Adeyemi, Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory, has described APC’s directive to its National Assembly members to block all legislative proposals as anti-people.
Adeyemi, in a statement issued in Lagos on Friday, said it was most unfortunate for a party that claimed to be progressive to come out with such a directive.
Adeyemi, former President of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), said: “It is undemocratic and non-religious position to be taken by a political party in the history of modern politics.
“We look forward to an opposition that will help in galvanising and accelerating economic activities.’’
The statement said Nigerians would not want anything that would add to their burdens, stressing that PDP was making frantic efforts to salvage the situation.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the APC’s directive was contained in a communique issued at the end of its 8th Interim National Executive Committee Meeting held in Abuja.

The committee had directed its members in the National Assembly (NASS) to block all legislative proposals, including the 2014 Budget.
Others were the confirmation of all nominees to military and civilian positions to public office pending the resolution of the crisis in Rivers.
