The Ebira Youth Congress (EYC) the umbrella body of all Ebira Youths both home and in Diaspora have called on the President- Elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to put the completion of the moribund Ajaokuta Steel Project at the heart of his plan to industrialise the nation’s economy. They also described his victory at the polls as a triumph of people’s verdict.
This was contained in a statement signed by the chairman of the group, Comrade Sheikh Adai Mamman and made available to The Graphic. The group commended Gen. Buhari for his resilience, describing his victory as epochal and a persevering long, tortuous walk to victory.
The EYC lauded the high level of statesmanship of the out-going President, Good luck Jonathan and the INEC boss Prof. Attahiru Jega for the roles they played in making sure that the country’s fledgling democracy takes firm root.

They particularly commended the President and noted that he has demonstrated rare courage and true spirit of true democrat the moment he conceded defeat hours before the final results were announced.
The group also saluted the INEC chairman for conducting what has been adjudged as free, fair and credible elections. The noted that with the introduction of the Permanent Voters Card (PVC)and the smart card reader, the INEC boss had confined the era of election rigging to the dust bin of history.
The Ebira Youths Congress (EYC) leadership also congratulated all the newly elected national and state’s assemblies legislators from the area. They admonished the law makers to put the interest of the electorate into consideration by making good laws that would affect their lives positively.
