A socio-political group, Ebira Must Be Better group, has bemoaned the epileptic power supply in Kogi state.
The president of the group, Comrade Danfulani Ohinoyi Lukman, made this known in a chat with Kogireports.
Danfulani called on government to find a lasting solution to the power crises.
“The situation, which has persisted for several months now, has not only brought untold hardship to the state, but
has virtually crippled some business activities in the state, he said.
“The condition is further worsened by the inability of the authorities concerned to tell the people of the State the reason for this ugly situation.
Danfulani wondered why the problem would continue to degenerate despite the increase in electricity tariff and federal government’s repeated assurances on improvement in the power sector. He argued that the situation has greatly affected many business, in view of the financial expenses incurred in running a generator almost twenty-four hours every day.
“Most of the money make in a day by the business men and women now goes back to the fuel service stations. The cost implications of running a generator alone is alarming,” he bemoaned.
Danfulani said the business people in the state are now gradually loosing most of there costumers due to unsteady power outages as they cannot be guaranteed of carrying out their market without unnecessary power interruption.
He called on the relevant authorities involved to immediately rectify the problem and give the state a steady power supply.
