Ebira at Political Crossroads

Fellow Ebiras,

At this defining moment in our history, we must rise above divisions and rally behind our own—Distinguished Senator Natasha Akpoti Oduaghan.

What she faces today is not strange in our land. We remember the days of Senator A.T. Ahmed and His Royal Majesty, Ado Ibrahim Atta III, Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, both of blessed memory. Though they once clashed bitterly, they found reconciliation for the sake of Ebira unity. Their legacy teaches us that no disagreement is greater than the collective destiny of a people.

Natasha Akpoti Oduaghan is our daughter, our sister, and our mother. Like every human, she is not without flaws. But must we all condemn her when she falters? Must we forget so soon that Ebira blood runs in her veins, and that her victory was a victory for all of us?

Today, we appear like a people without a unifying voice—no charismatic political leadership, no revered traditional intervention. Yet, our ancestors left us with wisdom: “Ami yi and owu yi may sound different, but they are both threads from the same cloth.” Natasha is ours—her struggles are our struggles, her victories our pride.

I therefore call upon our illustrious sons and daughters:

Former Governor Yahaya Bello (CON),

The incumbent Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo,

Hon. Tijani Ahmed Damisa, three-term member, House of Representatives,

Our revered Ohinoyi, HRM Alh. Tijani Anaje,

Hajia Ramatu Tijani

Barr. Hajia Ladi

The leadership of the Ebira People’s Association (EPA),

to urgently summon an emergency meeting. Let us resolve our internal differences and chart a path forward before 2027. If we fail to unite now, history will judge us harshly, and even the King of the World may withhold His favour.

Let us not wait until we are broken and forgotten. Unity is our strength, and the time to embrace it is now.
