The Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Security for Yagba East local government, Hon. Sule Abdulwakil has urged Christians to remain steadfast and pray for the nation’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an Easter message issued to the media on Friday, the council helmsman noted that the Easter period calls for sober reflection on the sacrifice, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“The Easter celebration, commemorating the death and resurrection of  Jesus Christ is also a time to emulate the virtues of love, sacrifice, forgiveness, humility, courage and endurance, which Christ demonstrated all through his journey in life.

“This year’s celebration is symbolic and memorable as the world battles with the deadly coronavirus which has nearly brought the world to its feet,” he said.

While appreciating the mercies and compassion of Christ over Nigeria, Sule stated that despite the nation’s population, the pandemic has only managed to infect few.

He urged Christians to continue to pray for the total recovery of those infected and also for God to protect everyone against getting infected.

Sule enjoined all to be at peace with their neighbours as it brings about an harmonious atmosphere suitable for growth and development.
