The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Yakubu Oseni has called on the Christians in the state and country in general to deepen their prayers for divine intervention and healing of the world from the pandemic coronavirus.
Senator Oseni made the call recently in a message to his Christian constituents as they join Christians around the globe to mark this year’s Easter which he described as one of the significant period in Christianity.
The lawmaker who eulogised his constituents said ”despite the global turbulence occasioned by the rampaging Covid-19, you all remained steadfast in worship to God by observing the Lenten activities as an obligation in the Christian faith”
Senator Oseni expressed optimism that with the resurrection of the Prophet, Jesus Christ, humanity presently battling strange ailment would be healed permanently through prayers and supplications.
He therefore called on adherents of other faith especially Islam to deepen their prayers for divine intervention that will put an end to the scourge so that God can have mercy on us.
On the partial lockdown order by the state government, Senator Oseni enjoined the people to maintain social distance, personal hygiene especially frequent hand washing and keep the celebration activities as low as possible, adding that prevention is better than cure.
