Love is the reason for the season. It is the very reason why the King of Kings left his heavenly throne and glory to be born as an ordinary man, bore the pains and burden of the sins of mankind and finally paid the ultimate price when he nailed it on the cross and said its finished.
In a press statement by one of the foremost aspirant for the Kogi State House of Assembly come 2019 under the Advanced People’s Democratic Alliance (APDA) Kabba/Bunu constituency, Olorundare A.S. Destiny admonished all Christian faithfuls to allow love prevail in all their dealings with one another.
According to him ” if we allow love lead in our midst many of the crises we presently have will become a thing of the past.”
Olorundare emphasized that the whole life, ministry and career of Jesus Christ on earth was a demonstrated of an unconditional love, saying the best way to celebrate his resurrection from the death and demonstrate our love for him is to practice his kind of selfless love.
Quoting 1 John 4:12; “No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us,” Olorundare used the occasion to appeal to the duo of Governor Yahaya Bello and Senator Dino Melaye to embrace peace.
He said there is much to be gained if both parties allow love to lead.
“I want to specifically call on Governor Yahaya Bello and Senator Dino Melaye to kindly put the interest of the state and her people above and ahead of personal interests and ego, embrace peace and allow love lead. As this is the sure path towards the actualization of the dreams of our founding fathers. There is more to be gained in love than in war.”
In the same vein, the House of Assembly aspirant appealed to supporters of both parties to embrace peace, noting that they have a critical role to play in the reconciliation process.
“I want to appeal to the supporters of both parties to please sheath their sword and allow true reconciliation that will lead to lasting peace prevail and by so doing posterity will be kind to them.”
In concluding his Easter message, Olorundare, said “there is no price too high to pay and no sacrifice too big to offer for peace once love is allowed to lead. Thus, the need to preach about love could not have come at a more appropriate time than this. Let love lead.”
