A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state, Prince Dayo Akanmode has offered prayers to God on behalf of Governor Yahaya Bello on lingering salary imbalance among workers and pensioners in different tiers of government in the state.
In his Easter message sent to Kogi Reports, Akanmode asked God to grant Governor Bello the grace to address the non payments of outstanding claims of former political office holders in the state.
Akanmode, who recently declared his intention to vie for the governorship seat in 2023, said the non-payment of outstanding claims of former political office holders has brought untold hardship to the ex-public servants and has led to the complications in the lives of many.
“I want to pray sincerely from my heart that God in his infinite mercy will grant His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello and his team the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, vision, skill, synergy and the political will in this solemn and sober period of the death and resurrection of Christ to address all issues surrounding imbalance in payments of salaries and pension in the state in Jesus name.
“This prayer has become unavoidable and crucial because at a point His Excellency claimed ignorance of these problems.
“I believe His Excellency wants to do well but like apostle Paul in the book of Romans, there are forces militating against him.
“I have chosen this period to intercede on behalf of the government because of the sanctity of this moment. Therefore, every dead area in the life of this administration will receive life like the dead bones in the book of Ezekiel.
“The administration must not end without addressing these endemic and intractable menace of wages and remunerations. Many have gone and more will go if these issues are not addressed,” he said.
