Easter: Former Governor Yahaya Bello Felicitates Christians, Preaches Peace, Hope

Former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, CON, has felicitated with Christians in Kogi State and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration, urging them to be guided by the enduring lessons of love, sacrifice, peace, and unity.

He congratulated the Christian faithful on the successful completion of the 40-day Lenten season, noting that their prayers during the period and beyond will continue to contribute to the growth and development of the nation.

In a goodwill message signed by the Director of his Media Office, Ohiare Michael, on Saturday, the former Governor underscored the significance of Easter, describing its values as universal and timeless. According to him, “the lessons of Easter transcend religious and cultural boundaries and remain the bedrock of peaceful coexistence in any society.”

He commended the sustained harmony between Christians and adherents of other faiths in Kogi State, urging the people to preserve and strengthen this unity for the overall good of society.

The former Governor, widely acknowledged for promoting interfaith harmony and inclusiveness during his tenure, encouraged Christians to embody the virtues of compassion, tolerance, and unity exemplified by the Easter season.

Reflecting on the current challenges facing the nation, he called on Nigerians not to lose faith, but to remain hopeful and resolute, drawing strength from the message of Easter which symbolizes renewal, victory, and new beginnings.

“Even in the face of present challenges, we must hold firmly to hope. Easter reminds us that after every trial comes triumph, and as a people, we shall overcome and emerge stronger.”

He offered prayers for a peaceful and united Nigeria, asking for divine intervention to heal the land, restore stability, and guide the nation towards lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.

He further prayed for God’s guidance and protection over Nigeria and its leadership, urging citizens to remain steadfast and committed to building a more prosperous and united nation, while having faith in the government at both the federal and state levels.

He concluded by wishing all Christians a joyful Easter celebration and prayed for enduring peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria.
