The Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Engr. Joseph Oluwasegun, has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to the residents of Kogi State, urging them to celebrate the season with love, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility towards one another and the environment.

In his goodwill message, the Commissioner congratulated the Christian faithfuls on the successful completion of the Lenten season and the joyful celebration of Easter, which he described as a time of renewal, hope, and unity.

“As we reflect on the profound sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who gave His life out of love for humanity, we are reminded that in His suffering, He bore not just the cross, but the weight of our sins, our fears, and our hopes. His resurrection offers us redemption and the promise of eternal life”

Engr. Joseph emphasized that, Easter should not only be a time of celebration but also a moment for deep reflection and renewed commitment to the values of peace, sacrifice, and mutual respect.

He commended the Kogi State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for its unwavering commitment to the welfare of residents through sustained investments in environmental sustainability, urban renewal, and public health.

“These efforts reflect a responsive and people-oriented government, one that listens and acts in the best interest of its citizens and the environment”

The Commissioner called on residents to complement these strides by embracing clean and responsible festivities.

“Let us remember that a clean environment mirrors the values we celebrate this season. Simple acts such as proper waste disposal, clearing drainages, and avoiding open dumping can make a significant difference”

While wishing all residents a joyful and peaceful Easter, the Commissioner prayed that the love and compassion of Jesus Christ inspire us to live with greater forgiveness, empathy, and selflesness.
