In his continued effort to energise all stakeholders to enable an improved Kogi economy through PPPs, the Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Public Private Partnership (PPP), Mallam Abdul Adama has called on Kogi State Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (KOCCIMA) to forge alliance with government.
The Special Adviser made this call when he visited the leadership of the Chambers in their secretariat.
Abdul Adama’s visit was part of his effort to create a robust working relationship with stakeholders within the public and private sectors in Kogi State.
The Special Adviser informed the Chambers that his areas of focus are; foreign direct investments (FDIs), job creation through industrialization, improved public infrastructures, and sustainable private sector-led economy in Kogi State
The leadership of KOCCIMA led by its President, Dr. John Alabi assured the special adviser of the chamber’s readiness to work with the state government though they have been neglected for over ten years.

Dr. Alabi however stated that synergy with government is a necessity. He opines that KOCCIMA should be officially listed on government protocol. He asked that the Chamber be included in government investment trips, be it local or foreign. He said this will guard against foreign investors taking undue advantage of the state when entering into partnership.
The Special Adviser noted that for PPPs to take off fully in Kogi State, a legal framework must be in place. He informed the Chambers of his effort at putting together a working document on this. The Chambers however notified the Special Adviser that they are working on a draft which will be submitted soon.
