The supporters of the former governorship candidate of the Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Jibrin Isah Echocho yesterday trooped out enmass to welcome the Governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Prince Abubakar Audu.
The youths numbering over 5000 lined the streets of Ajiyolo, Echocho’s home town in a show of solidarity for the ACN and Audu.
Majority of the youths carried placards bearing Ecocho’s picture as they chanted ‘sai’ Audu, ‘sai’ Audu.
Apparently moved by the gesture Audu stopped the convoy, came down, collected one of Echocho’s placards and raised it up to the admiration and excitement of all.
The youths promised to vote for him during the December 3 poll in the state.
Audu had earlier commissioned a transformer at Adikafane in Ofu Local Government Area, and charged party supporters at Ofakaga. Audu also spoke to ACN supporters in Emewe, Abocho and Dekina township in Dekina Local Government Area.
At Bassa Local Government Area,
Audu urged the people to elect him governor for the much desired change in the state.
He further enjoined the people to reject the inept and corrupt government of the PDP.
A most spectacular feature of the campaign were the presence of masquerades who assured Audu of the ancestor’s blessings and support during the governorship election.
