For the umpteenth time, I stopped talking about this man, having emphasized ceaselessly about his personality debut in view of our struggles for socio economic and political emancipation in Kogi state because our warnings apparently fell on deaf ears.

In the wake of 2019 general election, I wrote over 70 stories published in online, print and electronic media. Although, what triggered that was not far-fetched; Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji is an outstanding personality with aggressive transformation charisma. So I was duty bound to tell Kogites that Victor was a perfect brand for the senate, but the old gangs in agbada didnโ€™t let that happen.

We posited he is the muscle of revival for our decaying economy. Well, the masses bought into the idea and he was densely solicited into the governorship race. It was then left for PDP to do the needful, and in the cause, we cautioned that the party could retain its glory if only it identify with its priorities. Alas! The elements in the polity who see the entire state as private entity fielded their offsprings and what was meant to demystify democracy turned out as family affairs which kicked out other contestants without recourse to the yearnings of the generality.

As it stands, PDP could only produce a winner of an election who govern speeches at public function; sane to say, the winner is on exile while the loser sits comfortably at the Lugard house.

Dear readers, kindly pass my message to engineer Musa Wada that, this is the right time to travel to Dubai.

Fellow Kogites, Dr. Victor Alewo Adojiโ€™s proficiencies is transmogrified to national standard; He was the chief strategist for Edo and Ondo governorship elections, among other special jobs he was saddled by PDPโ€™s national stake holders.

Today, it is on record that the opposition employed the best hands, especially for Edo state election. If not, the owner of Lagos and that of Edo would have kicked Obaseki out.

Let me also establish quickly, that the Biblical quotation in proverbs 18:16; โ€œA manโ€™s gift open doors for himโ€ manifested here. And what we saw but some refused to identify with is now noticed at the highest citadel of power in the land. Of course, DVAAโ€™s political advent made some gamblers a fan-fiction of campaign mantra. This is a story for another day.

For those who listened to us about Victor, it was a good fight, those who did not listen, it is now the story of a stubborn fly. Yet, we are in it together but I am hopeful, history wonโ€™t be repeated. This is the man who genuinely left the comfort of a juicy job to the horrifying dome of Nigeriaโ€™s political sphere just to save his people. But the effect of poverty occasioned by mismanagement is so denting that we are perked by stomach infrastructure to the point of embracing men with deep pockets instead of ideas.

How can one describe sanity in a political structure such as Nigeriaโ€™s, or what do you tell of a man who chose freedom over oppression? In the face of virtual attacks, DVAA was law abiding and regardless of sacrifices he made, he never contended with those who stole his mandate.

In the end, he said and I quote; โ€œif it is about a workable Kogi state, itโ€™s worth itโ€. Hence, the renowned banker was the only contestant who pitched tenth with whom PDP fielded. And after that horrific civil war instituted by the gangs in the Lugard house, the pathfinder resigned to the usual humanitarian engine room where his quota never ceased from affecting lives across Kogi state.

At the right time, we will publish the good work of this silent achiever. Then and only then, you will understand that a leader has no reason to fail except if he lacks political will.

Fellow Kogites, here comes a man who rarely appear in public these days, but his humanitarian deeds had jumped into the street. At first, it was the celebration of โ€˜Kogi personality weekโ€™ where his name littered across every nooks and crannies of social media for weeks. Now, it is the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi state council, saying thank you to this God-sent.

Anyway, this is what gave rise to this post; in journalism, a story is not one unless it is accurate. And for those watching from afar, this is the reality; Dr. Victor Adoji is indeed a selfless giver. If the award was given to him by some group of indigenes, we may be right to say it is politically motivated. Perhaps, if this comes from me, pundits would call it paid job. But this is coming from a substantial unit of societal existence; an inters-witch between leaders and accountability. Do we still call it politicking? The answer flies in our conscience.

Dear all, there are ample opportunities ahead to choose between where we are and where we want to be. Kogi is indeed blessed.
