President Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) and a past National President of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr Omede Idris, Fnma, has described the late Deputy Majority Leader in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Buba Jibril as an astute leader who places high premium on the welfare of his people.
In a condolence message, the former Commissioner of Health said the news of Buba’s demise was devastating.
Omede, a frontline Kogi governorship aspirant, attested to the late lawmaker’s love for his constituents and humanity.
“With deep shock and sadness, I commiserate with the family of Hon Umar Buba Jibril, The National assembly particularly House of Representative over the death of the erstwhile Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Arc Umar Buba Jibril.
“This again reminds us of the vanity of life. Hon Umar Buba Jibril lived a life of fulfilment from his candour, simplistic approach to life, touching the lives of many in his practice as an Architect and more in his service to Kogi state and Nigeria as a former member of Kogi state House of Assembly and until demise, member House of Representatives.
“His love and service to humanity, through his constituency and elsewhere has been echoed by many to his hearing during his life time.
“My few interactions with him in my various official and private capacities within the short time I knew him, clearly affirm to his hold, believe and understanding of human existence, that of being good to people in any position God places one. He had observed that diligently in his lifetime and strive to improve human capacity, develop his constituency and the state,” he said.
He urged Buba’s family and associates to follow the footsteps of the late lawmaker, praying that Allah grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
