Dr Olumoko Tasks New FUE’P VC on Innovation, Technology for Sustainable Growth, Development

Pro-Chancelor, Federal University of Education, Pankshin, Dr. Funsho Ekundayo Olumoko, has called for innovation and technology inclusiveness for sustainable growth and development in the inistitution.

He made the call during the inauguration of the substantive Vice Chancellor and Registrar, Prof. Nuel Wanang and Comrade Luntung Yado, on Thursday.

Dr Olumoko tasked the new vice chancellor on the importance of ensuring the university become a custodian of academic integrity in teaching, research and innovation.

“You all will agree with me, that this is another defining moment to align with the symbol of leadership and administrative wellness as obtainable across other universities for competence and unprecedented impacts on our own university.

“It is our collective responsibility, not only go for ‘gold’ – in advancing academic excellence as a university but to also become a revered responsibility of thought mentorship, solutions giver and a builder of knowledge and characters among comity of universities.

“Today, as we make history in continuation of progress in the governance of our beloved university, let us not forget to entrust the tradition of academic nobility and dedicate such for dignified intellectual standards, become a custodian of academic integrity in teaching, research innovation and for community development.

“It is important to know where we are coming from, so as to be alive as a university to demand that our University rises to the global best practices, and can be handy enough to challenge and influenced innovation and technology inclusiveness for sustainable growth and development.

“This awe-inspiring occasion reminds us above other things, a call to service. It is a call to uphold identity, discipline, and administrative/leadership excellence. It is a call to safeguard our academic values even as we embrace innovation and competence. It is a call to build a university system of a native global-local standard,” he said.

Dr Olumoko congratulated the newly appointed Vice Chancellor on his elevation, and urged him to see the new position as a sacred duty.
