Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa has announced the first batch of beneficiaries under his ICT Training Scholarship initiative, marking what his campaign office describes as a deliberate step toward strengthening digital capacity among young graduates in Kogi East.
The beneficiaries, selected after a merit-based screening process, include two First Class graduates, Daniel Agama and Alih Lubabet Muhammed, as well as four Second Class Upper graduates: Abubakar Amidu, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Adejoh, Khadizat Adams Nuhu and Omalle Enemona.
According to the Campaign Office, the scholarship is designed to bridge the gap between academic achievement and employable digital skills, positioning participants for opportunities within Nigeria’s expanding technology and knowledge economy. The initiative prioritizes academic excellence while aiming to provide practical, hands-on ICT training that can translate into economic mobility.
Further details regarding onboarding procedures, training timelines and program structure will be communicated directly to the shortlisted candidates, the Campaign Office said.
The ICT scholarship forms part of a broader youth-focused agenda that Dr. Alfa has consistently framed around capacity building rather than symbolic intervention, emphasizing structured empowerment and long-term skills development across Kogi East.
