Dr. Idris Omede Has Raised the Bar of APBN – Yakasai

 The President of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Pharm Ahmed I.Yakasai has hailed the National President, Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), Dr. Idris Omede for his raising the bar of professional bodies in the country.

Yakasai made this known when the leadership of APBN paid a courtesy visit on the council of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN).

He stated that posterity will be grateful to Omede for his meritorious service to APBN.

The visit was part of the Omede-led APBN official tour of professional bodies in Abuja and Lagos.

The APBN team paid similar visits to Nigerian Institute of Management, Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Nigerian Institution of Town  Planners (NITP) and Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB).

Omede commended the contributions of PSN to APBN over the years.

“PSN has played a pivotal role in the advancement of professionals and professionalism in Nigeria being a founding member of Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria and also the oldest professional body in the country,” he said.

He urged PSN to keep playing its exemplary good role in APBN being one of its very active members.

At NIESV, Omede stated that the visit to member bodies was an innovation and advice by the Board to interact with member bodies at the location.

He highlighted the continuous need for member bodies to work together for the collective interests of professionals under a convivial and peaceful environment with minimal rancour, noting that APBN is another level of solution for professional needs and resolve in the face of many intentional and unintentional challenges confronting professionals and professionalism in Nigeria.

“Professionals in most climes form the bedrock or foundation for economic growth,  human capital and sustainable Infrastructural development. As members of APBN we must  be ready to address this for common good,” he said.

The NIESV President, Sir Rowland Abonta described the APBN President, Dr Omede Idris as amiable, unassuming, proactive and responsive.

He stated that the visit was the first of its kind by a sitting President. he congratulated Omede and Council of APBN for going extra miles in the Affairs of APBN since the tenure began.

He opined that APBN is strategically positioned with commitment of member bodies to resolve many issues bedeviling professions and professionalism in Nigeria.

According to Omede, the interactive courtesy visits to some of the member bodies has further strengthened their commitment to APBN and brought to bear their challenges.
