Prolific author and Mass Communication don,  Dr. Ezekiel Asemah has bid farewell to his now former institution,  Kogi State University,  Anyigba,  and assumed duty as a senior lecturer, at his alma mata,  University of Jos.

Speaking shortly after delivering his last lecture to Students of Mass Communication Department, Kogi State University, with whom he later posed for photographs, Dr. Asemah thanked management of the institution for the opportunity given him to serve at the school.

Dr. Asemah,  who equally expressed gratitude to staff and students of Mass Communication Department for the warmth and cooperation he enjoyed while he was with them,  he said he had to take up the new job at unijos because “change is the only permanent thing in life.”

“Left to me,  I would have loved to stay with you guys because we have grown fond of each other to the point that I see all of you as friends, brothers and sisters, but that is life. Change is the only constant thing in this world.

“Here in this university, I have people I can refer to as family because with most of my colleagues here, we have grown so used to each other that I can’t begin to imagine how it would feel without them. But then, in life, we meet to part”, the lecturer stressed emotionally.

Dr. Asemah enjoined the students,  particularly those in the final year, to continue to make the department proud as they have become famous for, and stressed his belief that they would make him proud of them in the wider society as he believed in their capacity.

He urged them to see each other as friends and always be ready to be of assitsnce to each other so that their bond of friendship can be deepened.

Some of the students who expressed their opinion over his exit pointed out their dissatisfaction as he had been one of the  beacons of the department.

They however hoped that they could get someone that step up to the void being left by his exit. Some of them described his exit as ” the loss of KSU, the gain of UNIJOS”.
